Virat Kohli once again sealed his authority with a brilliant half-century in the third T20I against England at the Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad. India’s batting line-up with Jofra Archer and Mark Wood fizzled out to bat first. The likes of Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul and Ishan Kishan went back to the hut without any effect as the men below looked like post-totals. However, Captain Kohli had different plans as he showed his batting in the midst of tough conditions and recorded his 27th T20I fifty, For any player.
When Kohli came to bat in the fifth over, India were 20/2. The deck was helping the pacers and the talisman batsman had a difficult task at hand. However, he dropped his A-game and smacked the visiting bowlers all over the park. While Kohli recreated the Indian innings with Rishabh Pant, he became fearless in the end overs. He hit boundaries and sixes for fun as the ball was flying all over the arena. Overall, he scored 77 runs in just 46 balls, as India advanced to 156/6 in their scheduled 20 overs. Although the target of 157 runs may not seem massive, India will have to defend themselves given the condition of the pitch. Notably, the five-match series is tied 1–1 after the first two games and the winner of this competition will take a 2–1 lead.
