Arteta wins Manager of the Month award for the third time in four months

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has been named March’s Premier League Manager of the Month, and is now just one behind Jurgen Klopp’s single-season record of five awards.

March was a strong month for the Gunners, who also saw winger Bukayo Saka named the division’s Player of the Month earlier on Friday.

Arteta was up against Pep Guardiola, Unai Emery, and Roberto De Zerbi for this month’s award, but after an undefeated month that yielded four wins and 14 goals across four games, the Spaniard has won once again.

Arteta now has four Manager of the Month awards to his name this season, having won his first back in August, and he is now just one behind Klopp’s record of five, which he set in 2019/20.

Whether he will get his hands on the trophy in April remains to be seen, with Arsenal facing a gruelling stretch of six fixtures across the month.

The Gunners kick things off against Leeds on Saturday, before meetings with Liverpool, West Ham, and Southampton, and Arteta’s side will end the month in blockbuster fashion with a trip to the Etihad to face Manchester City and a visit from London rivals Chelsea.
