Shooting Stars Sports Club and Remo Stars will renew their rivalry this weekend when they clash at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, formerly Onikan Stadium, Lagos, as part of activities for the 9th Seyi Akinwunmi Charity Foundation.

The two teams campaigning in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) would play the match on Fri- day as part of build up to the new season which is scheduled to kick off later this month.

Recall the Oluyole Warriors riors tutored by veteran tactician Gbenga Ogunbote The Oracle won the four-team pre-season tournament held in Lagos where they beat Enyimba 3-2 in the final penultimate Friday.

Before the match, U13 male and female teams will take centre stage the same day between 9am and 2pm prior to the 3SC/ Sunshine clash.

A member of the organising committee for this year’s edition of the Charity Foundation tourney, Dotun Coker, said “four male teams will play between 9:00am and noon while the girls will take their turn between noon and 2:00pm. The Lagos State Sports Festival team will be on parade.”

Meanwhile, over 40 children aged between 12 and 15 years have in the past eight years remained in school courtesy of the Foundation supporting their education and other related needs.

The Foundation has also supported more than 200 indigent students in collaboration with the Courage Education Foundation which was also conceived and cofounded by Seyi Akinwunmi over 17 years ago.
