Tottenham Hotspur has reached an agreement with Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou, who will take charge of the London club on a four-year contract.
The 57-year-old Australian recently completed his second season at Celtic, successfully leading them to the Scottish title for two consecutive years and securing the domestic treble this season.
Since Antonio Conte’s departure from Tottenham in March, the club has been actively seeking a new manager, with Cristian Stellini and Ryan Mason temporarily taking charge. The final details of the agreement are being finalized, and an official announcement is expected soon.

Born in Athens, Postecoglou’s previous European experience was limited to a brief stint as manager of Greek lower league side Panachaiki in 2008. However, he boasts an impressive track record, having won the Australian title with South Melbourne and Brisbane Roar, clinched Japan’s top-flight championship with Yokohama F Marinos, and guided the Australian national team to victory at the 2015 Asian Cup.

Postecoglou takes over Tottenham at a time when the team finished eighth in the Premier League, marking their first season without European football since 2009-10. He becomes the fourth permanent manager at the London club following the departures of Mauricio Pochettino in 2019, followed by Jose Mourinho, Nuno Espirito Santo, and Antonio Conte.
During his tenure at Celtic, Postecoglou achieved remarkable success, winning five out of six possible trophies since his arrival in Scotland in the summer of 2021. His leadership played a pivotal role in reestablishing Celtic as the dominant force in Scottish football, despite initially being viewed skeptically when he took charge, as the team had finished 25 points behind their arch-rivals, Rangers.
Postecoglou’s recruitment strategies and commitment to attacking football endeared him to the Celtic faithful, making him a highly popular figure among the fans. Now, he embarks on a new challenge with Tottenham, aiming to revitalize the team’s fortunes and guide them to greater success in the seasons to come.
