Manager Graham Potter has been officially sacked by Chelsea Football Club, confirming weeks of speculation.
Despite spending heavily on new players like Enzo Fernandez, the team’s form had been abysmal since Potter took over in September 2022.
With 10 losses already this season, Chelsea currently sits in 11th place in the league, and it appears that the final straw for the Blues board was their most recent defeat to Aston Villa.
Following Potter’s sack, fans took to social media to celebrate, while others began to speculate on who the new manager will be.

@SeunMobolaji It’s a shame. Potter had difficulties I’ve not seen many managers have even in the Chelsea job. Injuries, Massive squad. Already had enemies before he came because of fans were hurting from Tuchel. It seems the challenge was too massive understandably for him.

@BiolaKazeem I like Potter but I found his behaviour at Chelsea very strange. You’re at a big club where you have no history & you’re not a big name manager yet even through a terrible run of form,you act as if results don’t matter & remain so aloof & detached. People have to FEEL you care.
The big winners in this whole Graham Potter to Chelsea and out thing is….Brighton and Hove Albion. They banked millions in compensation and hired Roberto de Zerbi. That Chelsea money will probably pay de Zerbi’s salary for two years..All chicken change to Boehly anyway

@UTDTrey Chelsea paid Brighton £20m for Potter and then paid him £250k a week, he sent them down to 11th and now he’s sacked with a big compensation. He owns those bums
