The path to glory in the final showdown against Rivers United was no easy feat. Enyimba took the lead in the 37th minute through an Ekenne Awazie strike.
However, the resilient Rivers United refused to succumb to defeat. Three minutes into the second half, they found the equalizer, courtesy of Nyima Nwagua’s clinical finish from inside the penalty area.
Meanwhile, in a remarkable turn of events, Remo Stars emerged as the surprise package of the season, clinching a commendable second-place finish. This achievement holds special significance as it marks their inaugural entry into the prestigious CAF Champions League.
For the dethroned champions, Rivers United, their journey in the competition concluded with a respectable third-place finish. While they may have relinquished their crown, they secured a well-deserved ticket to the fiercely contested CAF Confederation Cup.
