Mykhaylo Mudryk and Arsenal seemed destined to be a match made in heaven as the Ukrainian winger heavily flirted with the Gunners on social media as the London side opened negotiations with Shakhtar for his signature.

But in a quick change of events, London rivals Chelsea hijacked the deal with the player set to be unveiled at Stamford Bridge on Sunday prior to the kick-off against Crystal Palace.

In light of the latest developments, there has been a flurry of reactions on social media to Mudryk’s Chelsea move. Here are some of the most hilarious.

@DrJoeAbah Amaka Mudryk don dump young Banker with bright future follow Sugar Daddy because of Brazilian hair and IPhone 14, shei? Mark my words: it will end in tears.

@JJ_DPM my take on the whole thing is that Shakhtar forced Mudryk’s hand to go to Chelsea. they were probably really pissed with his constant agitation for a move to Arsenal on social media. I’m sure he genuinely wanted arsenal, but it’s calm. big L, but we move.

@ConnCFC 10th place hjacking Felix & Mudryk from 1st place. Don’t ever say Arsenal are a bigger club than Chelsea again.

@PoojaMedia Mudryk was like, I love Arsenal after agreeing to £35K per week wages from £4K at Shaktar. Bullion van FC arrived in Ukraine with £200K per week on 7 years contract, man changed his mind & shouted, I say no to Poverty.

@frankedoho At 3pm, Mudryk, one of the greatest football prospects in Europe will join Boehly, one of the most lavish football club owners, at Stamford Bridge, to watch Crystal Palace defeat their club Chelsea, managed by Graham Potter, one of England’s most unlucky managers!

@simplyforlah Lol Arsenal fans are gonna boo Mudryk everytime his feet touches the ball at the Emirates game against Chelsea that club fans never forgives

@SamsonKasumba I am beginning to have a feeling that Edu used Mykhailo Mudryk as a decoy to hide who he really was working on to buy. He knew if he revealed his targets the money bags would inflate the figures. Now that they are gone, wait and see who he brings in. In Edu and Arteta I trust.

@PiersMorgan I’m irrationally annoyed about this Mudryk fiasco. If Arsenal want to win the League this season, we can’t faff around for weeks on key targets and then get outflanked/outbid at the last minute. Looks weak. We must buy another top class striker asap. #afc

@islimfit Todd Boehly and his scouting team don’t stress at all. They just leave other teams to do the scouting and then hijack the players. Welcome to Chelsea, Mykhaylo Mudryk.
