Usain Bolt has shifted focus from the track to his family and business commitments after retiring from sprinting six years ago. However he has admitted that he misses the excitement, as he still closely follows athletics, particularly sprint events.
In an interview with L’Equipe, he stated that he can already see his daughter teeing his path in becoming a sprinter or an athlete because she runs all the time.
“I can already tell you that my daughter will be a sprinter, or at least an athlete because she never walks,” Bolt said.
“She runs all the time, so that keeps me on my toes, you know.”
Bolt also spoke about how he has coped with being away from competition and missing the excitement of the crowd and adrenaline of big competitions.

Although he thinks his world records will stand for some time, he acknowledges that technology has played a significant role in breaking records recently.
“I just miss the excitement of the crowd, I really do. I miss the adrenaline of the big competitions,” Bolt confessed.
But, he isn’t planning on making any kind of spectacular return.
“It would be horrible!” he laughed as he reflected on the prospect of a 100m sprint in 2023.
“It would be agony for the final 30 or 40 metres.“
