Liverpool midfielder, Naby Keita, is set to join Bundesliga team Werder Bremen following the expiration of his contract with Liverpool this summer.
The 28-year-old, who was signed by Liverpool for a then-club record fee of £48 million from RB Leipzig in 2018, scored 11 goals in 129 appearances for the Reds.

Keita’s time at Liverpool was marred by injuries, which limited his playing time, and he managed only eight league appearances in the current season. Liverpool confirmed his departure in May, marking the end of his five-year tenure at the club.
During his time at Liverpool, Keita achieved success by winning the Premier League, Champions League, Club World Cup, FA Cup, and EFL Cup.

“A number of clubs are obviously going to be interested when a player like Keita is available on a free transfer,” said Clemens Fritz, head of scouting and professional football at Werder Bremen.
“He suffered an injury setback at the start of this season and that meant he didn’t play as often as he’d have liked to.
“We now want to get him back to his best.“
