Chelsea Football Club are reportedly edging closer to securing the services of Mauricio Pochettino as their next manager.
Following the withdrawal of Julian Nagelsmann, Pochettino has emerged as the prime target for the Blues. Although no contract has been finalized, Pochettino has shown a willingness to take the reins at Stamford Bridge, and his discussions with the Chelsea hierarchy suggest he has a clear vision for the club’s future.
Pochettino is understood to believe that with a few quality additions to the squad, Chelsea can once again compete for the Premier League title. The Argentine is said to be keen to bolster his attacking options, with Victor Osimhen of Napoli among his preferred choices.

While Pochettino had concerns about the club’s structure earlier this season, Chelsea has addressed those worries by bringing in experienced staff, making the project on offer more appealing to the 49-year-old.
Despite his previous association with Tottenham Hotspur, Pochettino’s links with Chelsea’s rivals are not expected to be a problem among the club’s hierarchy or fans.
The Blues are also exploring other options in case negotiations with Pochettino fall through. Vincent Kompany of Burnley, Ruben Amorim of Sporting CP, and Luciano Spalletti of Napoli are among the candidates being considered. Nonetheless, Chelsea’s focus appears to be on hiring Pochettino as they look to bring stability to the dugout.
