Organisers of the Onitsha City Marathon have cancelled what would have been the second edition of the event, scheduled for later this month.
The organisers, the Onitsha Business School, disclosed this in a statement, signed by Philip Balepo, its Deputy Project Manager, on Friday.
It announced that the marathon will now take place next year.
According to the statement, the general public is hereby notified that the 2023 Onitsha City Marathon (OCM), will no longer hold.
“The Main Organizing Committee (MOC), in conjunction with our Marketing Partners, GLS PROJECTS, look forward to the 2024 edition.
“For every inconvenience, kindly bear with us,” it said.
The first edition was held in October 2019.
