Two Nigeria internationals, Victor Osimhen and Lookman Ademola would have to face each other today as Napoli confront Atalanta in a Serie A fixture at the Gewiss Stadium.

Osimhen has been in a devastating form this season proving his worth in Napoli as goal scoring machine.

The 2015 FIFA U17 World Cup winner in the last domestic game netted a hat-trick in the 4-0 drubbing of Sassulo, as he boasts eight goals from 10 matches this season.

Osimhen according to the Transfermarkt’s market value remains Nigeria’s most valuable player at €65 million.

Osimhen will also look forward to scoring his first goal against Atalanta today, as he has never scored against La Dea since he joined Napoli two years ago.

Interestingly, Lookman has equally become a prized possession since his arrival in Atalanta from RB Leipzig last summer.

Lookman, who played for Leicester City last season on loan has scored five Serie A goals from 12 matches this season with one assist and remains Atalanta’s top scorer in the league.

Atalanta manager, Gian Piero Gasperini, said any coach would be happy to have the Nigerian midfielder in his team.

“Lookman has scored five goals and always gave a strong contribution to the team.

“He has technique, pace, he’s a player any coach would be happy with. We realised pretty quickly what he was capable of, he was convincing from the start,” the Atalanta boss had told Sky Italia.

Meanwhile, Diego Maradona’s son, Diego Sinagra, believes Osimhen and Matteo Politano would make it happen for the Partenopeans today.

Napoli after 17-game unbeaten run suffered a 0-2 loss to Liverpool during the week in the Champions League, and the Luciano Spalletti’s lads will surely want to placate their fans today with victory regardless of the opposition from Atalanta.

“In the game against Atalanta, I think that with the spaces they leave in one-on-one situations, Osimhen and Lozano will be fundamental,” Sinagra said as per Napoli Magazine.

“But Napoli have to beware of Pasalic and Lookman, who is in form.”

Atalanta have lost only one Serie A game this season, and they sit second in the league, five points behind Napoli.
