Lionel Messi appears to be leaving Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) this summer and could be heading to Saudi Arabia in a mega deal, as reported by L’Équipe.

His contract won’t be extended by the club, after he went to Saudi Arabia for a tourism-related engagement, resulting in an unsanctioned trip and a suspension. Thus, the Argentine footballer will be available on the transfer market, and Saudi Arabia is reportedly the frontrunner in signing him.

They are willing to offer “the biggest offer ever proposed to a football player” for a deal lasting several years. Even before Messi’s conflict with PSG, the offer from Saudi Arabia was seriously considered by his team.

Romain Molina, a French journalist, has stated that the Saudi club Al Hilal is interested in signing Messi, where he could face his former rival, Cristiano Ronaldo, who plays for domestic rivals Al-Nassr. However, there is also an option to join Inter Miami, an MLS club owned by David Beckham.

Nevertheless, Barcelona is another possibility, although the La Liga side may not have the financial capacity to make a deal this summer.

In summary, Messi’s sojourn at PSG is coming to an end, and Saudi Arabia is reportedly the most likely destination for the Argentine player. With a significant offer on the table, Al Hilal could be his next team, providing him with a chance to rekindle a domestic rivalry with Cristiano Ronaldo and link up with Nigerian striker Odion Ighalo.

While other options such as Inter Miami and Barcelona are also available, the latter may be financially constrained to make a move this summer.
