A total of ten teams are taking part in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024. The teams have been divided into two groups of five each. Group A features India Women’s National Cricket Team, Pakistan Women’s National Cricket Team, Sri Lanka Women’s National Cricket Team, New Zealand Women’s National Cricket Team and Australia Women’s National Cricket Team. Group B consists of Bangladesh Women’s National Cricket Team, Scotland Women’s National Cricket Team, West Indies Women’s National Cricket Team, South Africa Women’s National Cricket Team and England Women’s National Cricket Team.
As per the format of the 2024 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, teams in the same group will face off against each other in the round-robin stage. The top two teams from each group will then head to the semi-finals of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024. And from that, we will have two finalists. The winner of a match in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 will get two points. There will be no bonus points system. In case a match is abandoned due to bad weather or any other reason, the teams will get one point each. If a match is tied, then the team winning the Super Over will be awarded two points. If two or more teams are tied on same points at the end of first round, then the team with superior Net Run Rate also known as NRR will qualify for the semi-finals.
