Sunshine Stars’ Chief Coach, Edith Agoye, says his Akure-based club is still evolving and his players would soon rise to the occasion in the 2022/2023 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
Agoye, speaking after Sunshine Stars defeated Abia Warriors Football Club of Umuahia 1-0 on Sunday in Akure in a Group B Match Day 4 fixture, said they were still a “work in progress”.
“We are not yet stabilised. Every day we (will) improve, game by game. Today, we improved a little bit more in the aspect of scoring first and not conceding, which is very good for the team.
“Our players are rising up to the occasion. We are satisfied with the performance of the team, for them to measure up and defeat Abia Warriors,” he said.

“We will go back to the drawing board to assess and address areas where the team needed to be adjusted ahead of our next match,” he said.
