NDA warns Kaduna communities ahead shooting practice

The Nigerian Defence Academy,  Kaduna, has advised residents of Mando, Tsamiya, Kauya and Afaka general area to steer clear of its range management shooting course scheduled for Tuesday.

The academy, however, advised the communities not to panic on hearing sounds of gunshots during the period of the exercise.

This was contained in a statement by the Academy’s Public Relations Officer, Maj. Victor Olukoya, on Monday in Kaduna.

It said the exercise was meant for the Army and Air Force cadets of the 70 Regular Course and would end on April 1.

He said the excercise would hold at the NDA Open Range Afaka.

The statement was titled, ‘Nigerian Defence Academy to hold range course shooting exercise for Army and Air Force cadets of the 70 Regular Course on 28 March and 1 April 2023.’

It read, “The Nigerian Defence Academy will conduct Range Shooting Exercise for Army and Air Force Cadets of 70 Regular Course at NDA Open Range Afaka.

“Consequently, inhabitants of Mando, Tsamiya, Kauya and Afaka general area are advised to steer clear of the Range area and not to panic on hearing the sound of gunshots during the period of the exercise on March 28 and April 1, 2023.

“In view of the above, you are please requested to use your good medium to enlighten the inhabitants of the aforementioned areas accordingly. While thanking you for your usual cooperation, please accept the esteemed regards of the Commandant.”
