French sports newspaper L’Equipe has released their annual report on the salaries of Ligue 1 players, and unsurprisingly, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) players dominate the list.
Kylian Mbappé, the French national team’s captain and prolific striker, tops the list by a large margin, after signing a lucrative contract with PSG last year.

According to L’Equipe, Mbappé earns a monthly salary of €6 million, making him the world’s highest-paid athlete. However, this figure doesn’t include the signing fee of €60 million and the loyalty bonus of €70 million that he’ll receive this year.
Besides, Mbappé’s personal sponsorships with Nike, Oakley, Hublot, EA Sports, and Dior also add to his earnings.
Other notable PSG players also feature high on the list, with Neymar earning €3.765 million per month, Lionel Messi earning €3.375 million, Marquinhos and Marco Verratti earning €1.2 million, and Achraf Hakimi earning just over €1 million.
