Bayern Munich has finalized a deal with Chelsea to sign their first-team coach, Anthony Barry, as confirmed by sources.
The German club initially showed interest in Barry in March, and negotiations between the two clubs have taken place over the past few weeks to come to an agreement. As part of the deal, add-ons have been included, making the agreement worth up to €1m.
Barry will be reuniting with Thomas Tuchel, whom he previously worked with at Chelsea and impressed during their time together at Stamford Bridge.

The move will be viewed as a blow to Chelsea, as Barry played a key role in helping Tuchel turn around the team’s fortunes after his appointment as the club’s head coach. Chelsea had been hoping to keep Barry on board, but it appears that the opportunity to work with Tuchel again was too good for Barry to pass up.
With Tuchel and Barry previously having enjoyed a successful working relationship, Bayern will be hoping that the duo can work together to replicate the success they enjoyed at Chelsea.
“He’s a big character, very friendly,” Tuchel previously said of Barry. “He has a great quality analysing games and giving his opinion.

“I feel he’s very comfortable on the pitch when handling exercises and he’s a specialist with set-pieces so he does the video session and the training.”
Barry is already in Germany and it is expected he will make his first appearance on the Bayern bench this weekend in their Bundesliga clash against Mainz.
He had originally joined the Chelsea coaching staff in Frank Lampard’s first spell, but following his departure in January 2021 stayed on with Tuchel.
Barry also has international coaching experience having been part of the staff of the Republic of Ireland, Belgium, and Portugal.
