LIGUE 1: PSG sack Galtier, with Nagelsmann set to step in

According to reports from Le Parisien, Christophe Galtier has been sacked from his position as manager of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).

The club is now strongly considering Julian Nagelsmann as his potential replacement according to L’Equipe

Luis Campos, the Portuguese Sporting Advisor, broke the news to Galtier, informing him that he is no longer the manager of PSG. Campos had brought Galtier to Parc des Princes from OGC Nice at the start of the season, having previously collaborated with him during their time at Lille OSC.

Despite leading the team to victory in the Ligue 1 title race, PSG’s early exit from the Champions League at the hands of Bayern Munich, as well as a loss to Olympique de Marseille in the Coupe de France, raised concerns. Galtier’s dismissal does not come as a surprise, particularly as L’Équipe reports that he himself had anticipated this outcome.

During the recent title celebrations at the Parc des Princes, Galtier was booed by the PSG crowd, and his name did not appear on the UNFP list of the best Ligue 1 coaches of the season.
