The Saudi-German Hospital has partnered with Swift Air Ambulance Services to provide healthcare services to Nigerians, including other pilgrims during Hajj and Umrah.
The collaboration, they say, will help to improve the health-seeking behaviour of Nigerians.
Speaking with newsmen during the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the hospital and Swift Air Ambulance Services, the Director of Social Affairs and Public Relationship, Dr. Hisham Al-Amoudi, said the hospital would be supporting Nigerians coming into Umrah through the holy cities in Mecca and Medina.
He said the hospital was also working towards making Nigeria the healthcare hub in Africa.
“Early diagnosis prevents illness and guarantees a healthier life and well-being. Therefore, a check-up is a step in the right direction to a healthier life. We are serious about making Nigeria the hub for Africa, especially when it comes to healthcare,” he said.
Also speaking, the President and Chief Executive Officer of Swift Air Ambulance Services, Abdulazeez Oniyangi, said the partnership with Saudi-German Hospital was an excellent innovation.
“We know that Saudi Arabia is a favourite destination for Muslims, especially for Umrah and for Hajj, and we know that the rigours of this exercise are so much and we try to encourage people who are going for Umrah should go for a check-up before they even start their Hajj rites. Meanwhile, the hospital is the largest healthcare provider in the Mena region and has served the Nigerian population with empathy and compassion.
“The Saudi Arabia government has also made visas easy for emergencies and it’s a good thing for people to be healthy. It’s only the healthy that can spend; it’s only the healthy that can do business.
“This innovation will be a value addition for the Nigerians travelling for Umrah and Hajj services. It’s always good to get yourself prepared before you commence the Hajj rites,” he said.
