Paris Saint-Germain secured a vital 2-0 win against Nice in Ligue 1 on Saturday, thanks to goals from Lionel Messi and Sergio Ramos.
Messi opened the scoring in the 26th minute after finishing from close range from Nuno Mendes’ square pass. He then turned provider, delivering a corner for Ramos to head home the second goal in the second half.
Despite being indebted to goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma for a string of impressive saves, PSG dominated the first half and were unlucky not to score more. However, Nice fought back in the second half, with Dante coming closest to scoring with a shot that bounced down off the crossbar and back out.

Nice continued to threaten, but Donnarumma made crucial saves to deny Nicolas Pepe and Terem Moffi. In the end, their profligacy proved costly, and Ramos’ goal secured a crucial three points for PSG, who had suffered back-to-back defeats in their previous two games.
The win was crucial for PSG, who now hold a six-point lead over second-placed Lens in the Ligue 1 table. The victory also provided a timely boost ahead of their upcoming UEFA Champions League quarter-final match against Bayern Munich.
Overall, it was a hard-fought victory for PSG, with Messi and Ramos proving to be the difference-makers. Nice will be disappointed not to have taken their chances, but they can take heart from an impressive performance against one of the top teams in the league.
