The National Emergency Management Agency has commenced the distribution of relief materials to 2,900 victims of the 2022 flood in Birniwa Local Government Area of Jigawa State.
Its Coordinator Kano Territorial Office, Mr Nura Abdullahi, told the News Agency of Nigeria on Saturday.
The flood victims, spread across 13 communities in the local government area, got foodstuffs, blankets, women and children’s clothes, mats, cooking oil, roofing sheets, nails and cement among others.
Abdullahi explained that the intervention was provided to ease the hardship of the victims and to enable them to rebuild their damaged houses.
He urged beneficiaries to reciprocate the gesture by making judicious use of the items.
