Real Madrid face Chelsea again following UEFA Champions League quarter-final draw

On Friday, the quarter-final and semi-final draws for the Champions League were held, revealing the opponents for the remaining top teams in the competition.

Despite some mixed results in the round of 16, fans can expect even greater drama in the upcoming matches.

Real Madrid, who defeated Liverpool, remains the team to beat, but Manchester City, Napoli, and Bayern Munich are among the clubs with aspirations of lifting the trophy in Turkey. Chelsea, who beat Borussia Dortmund, will face Real Madrid in a repeat of last year’s quarterfinal.

Inter, currently behind Napoli in the Serie A title race, will face off against Portuguese team Benfica. Manchester City will play Bayern Munich for a place in the final four, while AC Milan and Napoli will face each other in an all-Italian match.

The semi-final pairings were also revealed, with Real Madrid, Chelsea, Manchester City, and Bayern Munich all on one side of the draw, meaning one of Inter, Benfica, Milan, or Napoli will advance to the final.

The semi-finals will be held on May 9-10 and May 16-17, 2023. The final will take place on June 10, 2023, at Istanbul’s Ataturk Olympic Stadium.
