Attacker Son Heung-min has stated that Tottenham Hotspur knew they had to perform better in their match against Manchester United.
According to him, the team understood that a repeat of such an “unacceptable” performance at St James’ Park was not an option.
Following their previous loss, interim boss Cristian Stellini was removed from his position, and Ryan Mason took over until the end of the season.
Tottenham’s match against Manchester United looked bleak as they trailed 2-0 after goals from Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford. However, the team fought back in the second half to secure a 2-2 draw at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Pedro Porro managed to halve the deficit, and Son equalized the score after being assisted by Harry Kane. While Tottenham’s hopes for a top-four Premier League finish may have been shaken by their previous loss, their resilience, and determination to come back from a two-goal deficit demonstrate their potential to recover and perform better in the future.
Son said: “We wanted to give everything and that was the dressing room speech.
“We couldn’t let the game go. We were really angry about it, we didn’t deserve to be 2-0 down at half-time.
“The last week was unacceptable and we didn’t want to repeat that. We feel really, really sorry for the performance and result and we wanted to bring a good energy.
“We really appreciated [the fans’] support and they were fighting with us.“
