Southampton’s 11-year tenure in the Premier League came to an underwhelming end as they suffered a defeat at home to Fulham, confirming their relegation.
Aleksandar Mitrovic, returning from an eight-game suspension, sealed Southampton’s fate with a header, following Carlos Vinicius’ opener.

Despite having a Carlos Alcaraz goal disallowed and a cleared volley from Willian, Southampton delivered a lackluster performance and could not mount a comeback.

Fulham dominated the match and comfortably secured the victory.
As a result, Southampton will be competing in the Championship next season, marking their first absence from the Premier League since 2012.
