Tottenham fight from behind to salvage 2-2 draw against Man United

Tottenham Hotspur earned a hard-fought 2-2 draw with Manchester United at Old Trafford, thanks to goals from Pedro Porro and Son Heung-min.

However, their Champions League hopes are now hanging by a thread, as they are six points behind fourth-placed United with only two games remaining in the season.

Ryan Mason took charge of Spurs as their interim manager, after Cristian Stellini’s departure following their humiliating 6-1 defeat to Newcastle United. However, things did not start well for Tottenham, as Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford scored for the home team in the first half, putting them in control of the game.

But Tottenham responded positively, with Porro scoring a brilliant goal to inject life into the team. Later, Son completed the comeback with his goal late in the game. The draw is a positive result for Spurs, but their Champions League hopes are fading fast.

Tottenham started the game poorly, conceding a goal after just seven minutes when Sancho scored with a low strike. United came close to scoring again, but Ivan Perisic made a crucial clearance off the goal line. Rashford managed to score United’s second goal with a fantastic finish after receiving a long ball from Bruno Fernandes.

Tottenham started the second half with more intent, hitting the bar through Clement Lenglet. They eventually found the equalizer when Porro scored a wonderful goal beyond David De Gea.

Fernandes missed a golden opportunity to score two minutes later, hitting the crossbar. This miss was punished by Tottenham, with Son scoring the winner with 11 minutes remaining, assisted by Harry Kane.
