As always Cristiano Ronaldo was the center of attention during the Saudi Pro League title showdown between Al Nassr and Al Ittihad.
Al Nassr appeared to be on course for a 0-0 draw against their title rivals, but a last-minute goal from Romarinho gave Al Ittihad the victory, propelling them to the top of the table and dethroning Al Nassr.
Ronaldo had scored eight goals in seven games since joining the Middle East team in the winter transfer window. Despite his previous success, the Portuguese superstar’s response to Thursday’s defeat quickly went viral on social media.

Al Ittihad posted a video on Twitter of Ronaldo being tackled, accompanied by a caption that read “Where is Ronaldo?”
The taunting did not stop there, as a crowd of over 57,000 people gathered at King Abdullah Sports City to watch the match. Videos circulated on social media showing fans chanting Lionel Messi’s name, which seemed to irk Ronaldo.
After the match, Ronaldo was visibly upset and disappointed, storming off the pitch in anger. He kicked a water bottle on the sideline and tossed his captain’s armband as he made his way back to the dressing room.
This was the second game in a row where Ronaldo failed to score for Al Nassr, who now face a difficult task in their quest to win the Saudi Pro League title, with only five games remaining.
