Sheffield United caused a major upset in the fifth round of the FA Cup with a 1-0 victory over Tottenham at Bramall Lane.

The Blades’ hero was Iliman Ndiaye, who scored a superb solo goal in the 79th minute to secure his team’s place in the quarter-finals of the competition.

The Championship side managed to hold off Tottenham’s attempts to score, even though the Spurs had the likes of Lucas Moura, Gareth Bale and Erik Lamela on the pitch.

Harry Kane started the game on the bench, which may have played a role in Tottenham’s lack of goal-scoring opportunities.

The defeat means that Tottenham will once again finish the season without winning a domestic trophy.
