It was a night of lamentations and banter as Chelsea football club, the biggest spenders in the 2023 January transfer window played out a goalless draw with Fulham in the Premier League on Friday night.

The match was Chelsea’s first after a January spending spree which saw the Blues sign the most players (8) and broke the record for the most expensive Premier League signing for Enzo Fernandez. The feat obviously spurred fans to expect a better performance seeing as their new signings took to the pitch in Fernandez, Mykhaylo Mudryk, Noni Madueke, David Datro Fofana, and defender Benoit Badiashile.

Unfortunately for Chelsea fans, the performance was not what the Blues fans were expecting leaving them to lament about other issues in the teams like Graham Potter’s tactics and team selections.

On the other hand, rival fans saw it as an opportunity to banter with Chelsea seeing as they spent over 300m pounds in the January window alone.

Here are some reactions from fans on social media

@UTDTrey Someone said Potter is Chelsea’s Ole and I can’t unsee it now. They deserve this suffering
