OGUN State government has expressed its readiness to host a hitch-free National Sports Festival in 2024.
Tribunesport gathered that Ogun State had submitted her bid to host the biennial Games months ahead of other states bidding for the 2024 NSF.
Ogun State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Dr Oluwadare Kehinde, said the state can boast of standard facilities that can host the nation in 2024 if given the hosting rights.
“The hosting is in line with the four cardinal points of Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun who is more determined to make sports veritable in the state,” he told Tribunesport on Tuesday in Asaba.
“We have submitted our bid documents since and the officials of the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports have visited the venues earmarked for the Games.
“Don’t forget that we have hosted the National Sports Festival before and we have the necessary facilities on the ground to host the Games again; all we need to do is to add some touches to them. We just need to upgrade these facilities and after that we are good to go.
“The governor is very concerned about security and I can promise that adequate security will be put in place during the Games. In short, Ogun State has all it takes to host the Games successfully.”
